ABOUT US

Brothers Morris and Cameron Bryant founded Sparro in 2013 after a combined 10 years in digital working between Appliances Online and their own products.

Their mother, Lola, joined on the books and a family business was born.

Nearly a decade in and the business is a 120+ person, 85-client strong team, but the approach remains the same – hands-on business solutions that puts client value above everything else.

In 2024, the business was acquired by global Indie digital agency, Brainlabs, with Morris and Cameron moving to Australia leadership roles in the group.

The business vision and values remain the same, as we strive to be Australia’s most impactful agency while we develop the industry leaders of the future.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Sparro began as a vision for how digital could, and should, be better: agile, transparent and always delivering value.

It also recognised that Australian businesses were looking to independent agencies to tap into that potential. They wanted greater clarity, value and a no-bullshit approach. They wanted more.

“Expect more” has been the maxim driving us for the last 11 years.

It’s forged trusted relationships with some of Australia’s leading businesses: including Webjet, Temple & Webster, Catch, and Estee Lauder Companies. And, since 2014, it’s driven double digit business growth every year. We now have the largest spend across digital marketing channels of any independent agency, managing $200m in 2023.

We’re proud to be independent, a family business, and we love seeing some of Australia’s largest businesses choose indie.

We want to thank you for supporting us and expecting more.

OUR PEOPLE

We’re not your typical agency guys — and we don’t want to be. We’re here to get the job done: no politics, no suits, no ego. Just results.

That said, we’re not robots — we’re a close knit team of friends and family that love what we do.

We work hard, but we value balance. We’re out the door (or the home office!) at 5.30.

We use knowledge sharing, coaching and work-shopping to drive collective value across our business; meaning every client succeeds from the testing, ideas and developments of our total client pool.

You can’t force a culture. It’s not defined by ping pong tables in the rec room or by slogans printed on the wall. It’s good people working together as an extended family.

And with a crew of more than 50% second-generation Australians and 65% women, we’re also proud to say that it’s a group strengthened and enhanced by diversity.

CULTURE

Culture can be hard to define until it defines itself.

For Sparro, it was the business rallying in support when needed the most.

In 2015, Jane Bryant, the wife of Sparro co-founder Cameron Bryant, was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive breast cancer. By mid 2018, Jane’s cancer had metastasised and she passed away peacefully on June 14, 2018 surrounded by our families.

It was a time where, of course, the Bryants had to take a step back from Sparro — Cam for several months.

During this devastating period, the other team-members at Sparro stepped up. They stayed later, missed reviews, ran pitches and continued to learn, grow, innovate and achieve together.

They did whatever it took to allow Cameron to focus on himself and his loss. It was testament to the Sparro family, to the values we’d put in place from day one.

Importantly, that family culture ensures we continue to honour Jane’s legacy.

Our team gives monthly blood donations to the “Jane’s Bloody Awesome” team — so far saving over 300 lives.

We also continue to give to the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, raising over $100,000 in loving memory of Jane Bryant, so far.
